Vernal Hanging Parrot

The Vernal Hanging Parrot is a petite green parrot characterized by its short tail. Males are distinguished by a red beak, rump, and a striking blue throat spot, while females feature a green spot in place of the blue. Measuring just 14 centimeters in length, these parrots are renowned for their rapid and straightforward flight. Native to Southeast Asia, they sustain themselves with a diet comprising a variety of wild fruits, flowers, and buds. When it comes to nesting, Vernal Hanging Parrots opt for tree cavities. Typically, they are not particularly sociable and tend to prefer small groups outside of the breeding season.
