Hoopoe

Hoopoes are remarkably colorful birds with a rich history, having been considered sacred in ancient Egypt and featured in depictions on the walls of tombs and temples. Today, these distinctive birds are found across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Madagascar. Hoopoes primarily sustain themselves by feasting on insects like crickets, beetles, locusts, and cicadas, though they occasionally include seeds and berries in their diet. Notably, during their migration through the Himalayas, hoopoes have been recorded at altitudes of approximately 6,400 meters, showcasing their adaptability and resilience.
