Black Marsh Turtle

The Black Marsh Turtle, also known as the Thai Black Turtle or Thai Mountain Turtle, is a critically endangered species endemic to Thailand. The turtle is only found in a few highly specialized habitats in Thailand, including rivers, lakes, and wetlands. It is threatened by habitat loss, pollution, and hunting by poachers. The Black Marsh Turtle is the only surviving member of its genus, Siebenrockiella, and is an important species for conservation efforts in Thailand. The Thai government has taken steps to protect the turtles, including establishing protected areas and banning the sale of the species. Additionally, international conservation organizations are collaborating with local organizations to raise awareness and protect the species.
