Sunbeam Snake
The Sunbeam Snake, a resident of Thailand's landscapes, is a remarkable species renowned for its stunning iridescent scales that shimmer and glint, reminiscent of a sunbeam reflecting off water. Though it may reach lengths of up to 1.3 meters, it's the snake's radiant scales that truly capture attention, set against its reddish-brown dorsal side and a contrasting, patternless whitish-grey belly. A predominantly fossorial species, the Sunbeam Snake thrives in rice fields, gardens, and parks, often burying itself away from prying eyes. When encountered, this non-venomous creature is generally docile. While it might resort to biting when threatened or mishandled, its natural inclination is to seek an escape route, avoiding conflict.
