Bombardier Beetle

The Bombardier Beetle, an exceptional beetle species native to Thailand, boasts a distinctive defense mechanism. When provoked, it expels scalding chemicals from its rear end. This chemical discharge is so intensely hot that it can scorch the skin or even induce blindness in potential predators. Noteworthy for its diverse coloring, which spans from ebony to vibrant shades of yellow and red, this beetle plays an indispensable role in Thailand's food chain, contributing to ecological equilibrium.
