Whip Spider

Whip spiders, also known as Tailless Whip Scorpions, are a unique species of arachnid found in Thailand. They are distinguished by their long, whip-like antennae that are used to sense their environment. Whip spiders are nocturnal, living in moist, dark areas such as caves, tree hollows and under rocks. In Thailand, they can be found in the jungles of northern and western parts of the country. These spiders feed on small insects and prefer a humid climate in which to live. They can grow up to 4 inches long and are an interesting species to observe in their natural habitat. Found fossilized remains of their ancestor's date back to about 300 million years BC.
