Hey everyone,
Just wanted to drop a quick update for all you crypto traders out here in Thailand. As of January 1st this year, trading digital assets just got sweeter—no more VAT! The Thai Revenue Department made it official in their latest press release.
This change isn't just for a short stint; there’s no end date in sight. Now, any dealer or broker under the SEC’s watch is in the clear, VAT-wise. Before this, only trades on authorized exchanges got the VAT-free treatment. Plus, any digital investment tokens passed to someone else have been off the VAT hook since last May.
The government's not stopping there. They're in talks to tweak the Securities and Exchange Act to make digital investment tokens more like regular securities. Looks like they’re paving the way for better regulation.
What do you all think? Is this going to change how you trade, or is it just another day in the market for you?
